On seeing increased confusion in the vending machine market, Vencoa Vending Machines, a market leader since 1977, seeks to clarify vending machine buying options
Palo Alto, CA – June 3rd, 2014 – Over three decades of business in the vending machine market segment, Vencoa Vending Machines has seen increased confusion over trade names and models of identical vending machines made by the same quality manufacturer, the Wittern Group, based in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Wittern Group sells identical vending machines through multiple sales channels using many different brand names including Selectivend, USI, U-Select-It, Fawn, Federal, Avanti and Vending.com. The Selectivend brand is marketed in the United States through Sam’s Club, Costco and BJ’s. Almost always, the difference between brand names is the serial number plate on the cabinet of the machine. All of these vending machines are manufactured at the same factory owned by the Wittern Group in Des Moines, Iowa, and are almost always virtually identical. Buyers new to market sometimes believe there are more options available than actually exist and that some have propriety advantages over others. Different model numbers using the same trade name also add to the confusion.
“Many buyers pay hundreds of dollars more for the exact same Wittern Group manufactured vending machines which they could buy for less from Vencoa because they believe they are buying a factory direct machine at the lowest possible price or buying the vending machine from a warehouse club. That is not always the case,” remarks Peter LeVine, President of Vencoa Vending Machines.
Buyers should be aware that Wittern Group factory reconditioned vending machines are not always a good value. These machines may be repossessed or freight damaged and have been repaired and/or repainted to look more presentable. The price difference between the reconditioned vending machine and a new vending machine can be minimal. Almost always, it makes more sense to purchase a new Wittern Group branded vending machine for almost the same price.
Vencoa urges buyers to research vending machine specifications before making a purchase. It is very simple to do. Just focus on two important specifications:
1) number of selections offered; and
2) height, width, depth, and weight of the Des Moines made vending machine.
Next, go to www.vencoa.com or www.vencoavendingmachines.com where Vencoa almost always offers the exact same vending machine under the trade names “U Select It” or “USI” for less money and with more favorable warranty terms.
Vencoa’s U-Select It (USI) vending machine product line has a two-year parts warranty in addition to the industry standard five-year warranty on traditional soda machine refrigeration compressors. Other suppliers typically offer only one-year warranty on all other parts.
If there are options needed and offered on Wittern Group Des Moines manufactured machines, Vencoa can offer the same options, often for less money.
Finally, please be sure to scrutinize the details of the Wittern Group in-house finance company offers. When quoted an interest rate, be sure to ask the annual percentage interest rate or APR. Prospective buyers are often quoted an Add-On rate, which appears to be low, but is actually extremely high. For example, a 9% Add-On rate equals approximately 16% APR which means that 16% is the actual interest rate being charged.
